Georgia man arrested on multiple charges

AUBURN, Ala. – On March 22, 2025, Auburn Police arrested Aaron David Webb, age 35, from Smyrna, Georgia, for the charges of identity theft, attempted theft of property first degree and attempting to elude a law enforcement officer.
The arrest stems from Auburn Police responding to an identity theft in progress call at a business located in the 1600 block of East University Drive on March 22. An employee of the business called police, reporting that a suspect was inside attempting to pass fraudulent checks.
Responding officers attempted to contact the suspect who was exiting the business as they arrived. The suspect fled on foot and was eventually apprehended. The suspect was identified as Aaron David Webb, and further investigation confirmed that he was attempting to conduct a fraudulent transaction with a stolen identity. Webb was also in possession of items associated with the identity theft at the time of his arrest.
Webb was arrested for the listed charges and transported to the Lee County Jail and held on a $11,000 bond.

All defendants are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
